Leadership Team
President
Tony Ellis was born in El Paso, Texas, and moved frequently due to his father’s Army career, eventually settling in Colorado Springs at age 10. After graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1978, Tony started a painting business in Michigan during a summer break. Four years later, he moved back to Colorado Springs to continue growing his business.
TECC Painting has become a respected name in the Colorado Springs industry. With a team of 30 in-house painters, several subcontractors, and eight staff members, TECC Painting handles various residential, commercial, and industrial projects. His business philosophy—respect the craft, do the job right, and keep promises—has earned him many repeat clients.
Fully insured and safety-focused, TECC Painting fosters a team-oriented environment. Tony is actively involved in the community, working with non-profit organizations and serving on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region. His dedication to quality and community service has solidified TECC Painting’s reputation in Colorado Springs.
Project Manager
Armando Solano started working at TECC Painting in 2004. He is a commercial repaint project manager, and estimates projects and manages roughly 25 employees. Prior to TECC, he had experience painting the barracks and military family housing at Ft. Carson. He is most proud of In his free time, he loves spending time with his family or playing golf. His best piece of advice he has been given is to “show up and show out.” The most inspiring part of his job is providing work for others and restoring historical structures. He finds TECC to be a reputable and professional company that values quality of life in and outside of the workplace. Armando is also a big advocate for responsiveness and communication, making him a very effective manager.
Project Manager
Matt Wells joined TECC Painting in October of 2022 as a Commercial/Industrial Project Manager-Estimator. He has been in the painting industry for 30 years, with experience as a Painter, Foreman, Superintendent, Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Estimator, Operations Manager, General Manager and Vice President of Operations. He is also a NACE II Coating Inspector. In his free time, he enjoys golf and expanding his gun collection. Matt is also a fan of the Raiders, Avalanche and Rockies. He is a big proponent of learning and believes that the more value you have, the more doors will open for you. He is proud of starting out with no prior knowledge as a painter and working his way up to the top spot of a company through hard work and determination to do better than those around you. He likes working at TECC because of the teamwork and our common goal to help the company succeed.
Project Manager
Mike is a Residential Project Manager and Estimator. At 18 years old, he started in the painting industry at Sherwin Williams, where he was promoted to manager. He then began working as a project manager for an exterior renovation company based in Denver before coming to TECC Painting in 2020. He enjoys working on people’s most valuable assets and assisting them in making their vision come to life. At TECC, he believes we are a team of dedicated, tranparent and integrity driven individuals, and that when it comes to life, the worst thing anyone can say is “no.” In his free time, Mike is busy spending time with his family, shooting, hunting, golfing, or playing sports. He is a fan of the Bayern Munich, Los Angelos Lakers, and the Colorado Rapids.
Production Manager
Larry Mitchell has been working at TECC painting since February of 2009 starting as a painter and getting promoted to crew leader and then production manager. He treats all our employees as his customers: solving problems, fleet . He has been painting since 2001 and is most inspired by teaching, mentoring, and watching new painters succeed. Larry enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, fishing and skiing and is a fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians. Larry loves the painting business and will most likely always be involved in it. For anyone who joins our team, Larry recommends keeping an open mind, and to be brave enough to attack the hardest task of the day.
Project Manager
Lorenzo Salgado started working at TECC Painting in September of 2020, and he has over 18 years of experience. He is an expert in painting, drywall, and stucco repairs. His ability to work in a team and hardworking attitude has put him in a leadership position here at TECC. In his free time, he enjoys exercise and going swimming. He enjoys going to different jobs every week and meeting new customers and exceeding their expectations. Due to his reliability and integrity, Lorenzo is one of our best employees.
Shop Manager
Jeromie Nazzise started working at TECC around 2008 and is an all around stain guru with unmatched attention to detail. Prior to working at TECC, he was a limo driver in Hawaii, but started painting as a child. He was painting a condominium in Hawaii on a swing stage at 13 years old. In his free time, Jeromie can be found fishing, golfing, or spending time with his kids. He is also a fan of the Colorado Broncos, Nuggets, and Avalanche. Jeromie is proud of many of the projects he has been a part of at TECC Painting, including historical sites such as the refurbishments we have done at the Pioneers Museum. At TECC, he recommends always bringing your A-game and to be meticulous in all your work.
Office Coordinator
Katelin Hall joined TECC in January of 2023. She helps with a plethora of things around the office from payroll to customer invoices to marketing and is willing to help anyone with whatever they need. She graduated with a bachelor’s in business from UCCS in December of 2022. Katelin started immediately after graduation as a receptionist and has been learning the ins and outs of the company ever since. In her free time, she loves reading, taking care of her plants, crafts, crocheting, and hanging out with her cat. Her favorite thing about TECC painting is that she is always learning more and believes that the key to fitting in with the team is a positive attitude and strong work ethic. She is thrilled to have found a job that she doesn’t dread and that has given her many growth opportunities.
Project Coordinator
Yesika Hernandez started working at TECC Painting in June of 2023 as a receptionist, but continuously does so much more for TECC than just answering calls. Before working at TECC, she held a similar position at a local flooring company and loves being able to help customers bring their vision to life. She is proud of how much she has learned and how in touch with technology she is. Yesika loves going hiking and being out in nature as well as spending time with loved ones. She also has three adorable cats she spends a lot of time with, and someday would like to have a farm. The best advice she has ever been given is to “get up everyday and fight for yourself, no one else will do it for you.”
Business Development Manager
Doug started at TECC Painting in May of 2024, with the goal of taking TECC Painting to the next level through Networking. He has 15+ years of sales experience, with a bachelors degree in marketing. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, golfing, camping, hiking, and spending time with his 3 kids and wife of 15 years. He loves helping people and is a fair weather minnesoda sports fan.
