How often should people paint their homes?

Exposure to the elements is just one of the many things that can affect this. The quality of the paint and prep work done before the last paint job is also a factor. Many builders use cheap paint, so we often see new homes that need to be painted after only 3 or 4 years. 7 to 10 years is a good starting point with our sun, heat, and humidity.
